SO!!! The summer is nearly over 'le cry!' But i'm super excited for school!!
These are a few things i've been loving through the month of Augusttooo XXX

Lip Combo - I've oppted for a bold lip pretty much everyday this month and a go to combo has been Mac's Russian Red highlighted in the centre with Morange

kisssabllyyy soft - So everyone has heard of 'Palmers Coco Butter Moisturiser' - well this is a version for the lips, i've loved it for ages now. Holy Grail lip balm.

Barry M - Gelly Highshine Nail Varnishes - Such a lovely formula, these polishes are really opaque so 2 coats are all you need.

New shoooeeeeessssss - This month i've been branching out from my old and beaten 'Topshop studded loafers', and got 2 brand new shiny pairs :
1. River Island - Light Brown Chain Front Loafer
2.Topshop - Martie Patent T Bar Geek Shoes

Golden Chains - I was rather reluctant at the begining of the chain trend, as i didn't think they were really 'me', but i've recently perchaced a few and i find they go with everthing and can add an edge to any outfit.

Margaret Atwood - The Handmaid Tale - Been rather a book worm this month now haven't I!
I really enjoyed this book it was a real page turner.
Its a science fiction book set in the future. About a young woman is put in sexual slavery on account of her now rare fertility.

I've eaten my body weight in Avocados....

Hope you liked myyyy favvvess

A/W13 Makeup look #1

In this look i tried to encapture some of the new makeup trends for A/W13.
Dark berry wine stained lips, worn in eyes and demi-matte skin were the main focuses.

I tried to balance the heaviness of the smoked out eyes with a flushed lip and contoured cheeks.
I avoided blush/brows and only used a subtle highlight, as i strongly emphasised the tear duct and under the eye using an Illamasqua gold metal pigment.

I went for a winged out eye by layering up browns and softly blending with a tapered brush. I went for an 'effortless' look by blending i stayed away from precision in gel or liquid liner so i opted for a soft pencil smudged into the lash line; Purple and Aubergine tones are great as an alternative to black or brown i used
( Mac - Technakohl liner in Purple Dash )

  • For the desired Demi-Matte base, i used 'Mac Face and Body' and set it with some 'Nars loose powder'.
  • On the lips is Dark Side - Mac / Mac - Plumpful
  • Cheeks - Illamasqua pigments in Hollow
  • To Highlight the cheeks i used a Maybelline Champagne toned shadow along the tops of the cheekbones and along the bridge of the nose.
  • Dark Brown Shadow - 'Face Stockholm' Matte eyeshadow in Russian Caviar

I think this look will be great for the upcoming cooler months.
To adapt for a more day time look, either switch for a nude lip or tone down the gold.

Hope you liked this look
